01. Approach

In order to assess our client´s potential for task automation across various areas of business, we analyzed 30 business cases that documented problem statements, pain points, available data and data form and task complexity, and evaluated their potential for the application of advanced automation technologies, such as machine learning.

Our initial goal was to identify customer business needs and propose a strategy on how to deep dive into those in order to prioritize interest topics and help to formulate realistic automation goals for relevant business areas.

3-day deep dive workshop

For the workshop all cases were framed in a canvas in order to discuss and evaluate relevant parts of the business case for automation technologies such as machine learning.

During the workshop business cases were assessed by different domain experts and a joint decision taken which to explore even more in depth.

The 4 selected business cases were elaborated on in depth by creating new processes and future user journeys that incorporate the new automation component.

After documenting the results of the deep dive workshop and sharing them with the customer, work streams were set up to create comprehensive use cases and kick-off follow up projects for the different use cases with internal development teams. Project owners were on-boarded and enabled to take over solution development.
